أقيل الجنرال بريت سيلفيا من منصبه كمدير للاستراتيجية والخطط والسياسات في هيئة الأركان المشتركة بالبنتاغون.
جاءت الإقالة بسبب اتهامات بسوء السلوك وتسريب معلومات سرية تتعلق بالحرب في إيران وأوكرانيا.
أحيل سيلفيا إلى وزارة العدل بعد فشله في ثلاثة اختبارات كشف الكذب بشأن مشاركة معلومات عسكرية مع وسائل الإعلام.
تأتي هذه الخطوة ضمن سلسلة تغييرات في القيادة العسكرية لإعادة هيكلة البنتاغون وتعزيز المساءلة.
