يساعد الأسبرين في الوقاية من سرطان القولون والمستقيم عبر تعزيز قدرة الجهاز المناعي على رصد الخلايا السرطانية ومنع انتشارها.
أظهرت دراسة لعام 2024 أن تناول جرعات منخفضة من الأسبرين يرتبط بانتشار أقل للسرطان في العقد اللمفاوية.
يجب على المصابين بحالات معينة مثل اضطرابات النزيف أو قرحة المعدة أو أمراض الكبد تجنب تناول الأسبرين.
تتطلب دراسة تأثير الأسبرين بالتزامن مع العلاج الكيميائي والإشعاعي المزيد من الأبحاث السريرية المضبوطة لتحديد الفوائد المحتملة.
