الصحة العالمية: 220 حالة وفاة مرتبطة بفيروس إيبولا

أفادت منظمة الصحة العالمية برصد نحو 220 حالة وفاة مرتبطة بفيروس إيبولا في الكونغو.

وبدأ التفشي الحالي في الكونغو الديمقراطية في 15 مايو، ناجماً عن سلالة بونديبوغيو التي لا يتوفر لها لقاح أو علاج معتمد حتى الآن.

وأعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية طارئة صحية عامة ذات نطاق دولي لمواجهة هذه الموجة السابعة عشرة من تفشّي الفيروس في هذا البلد الشاسع في وسط إفريقيا الذي يزيد عدد سكانه عن 100 مليون نسمة.

وفي تحديث سابق السبت، ذكرت وزارة الصحة في الكونغو تسجيل 204 وفيات في ثلاث محافظات من أصل 867 حالة مشتبه بها.
