أصيب 34 شخصاً ومُت 7 آخرون إثر هجوم مسلح استهدف مشيعين داخل كنيسة القديس جورجيوس في قرية حمود بالكرك.
أدى إطلاق النار الكثيف من قبل مسلحين ملثمين إلى حالة من الفوضى والذعر بين الحاضرين خلال مراسم الجنازة.
أعاد الهجوم الأخير ذكرى أحداث دامية شهدتها محافظة الكرك سابقاً، منها مأساة الطيار معاذ الكساسبة وهجمات قلعة الكرك عام 2016.
أكد الملك الأردني مواجهة منفذي الهجوم بأشد العقوبات، بينما وصف وزير الداخلية الهجوم بأنه عملية إرهابية نفذتها مجموعة من المتطرفين.

أعاد الهجوم المسلح على كنيسة في الكرك الأردنية إلى الواجهة ذاكرة أحداث دامية شهدتها المحافظة خلال العقد الماضي، من مأساة الطيار الأردني معاذ الكساسبة إلى هجمات القلعة عام 2016.
