تسعى جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية لجذب استثمارات بقيمة 12 مليار دولار لتطوير مشروعات الكهرباء خلال السنوات الخمس المقبلة.
تهدف المشروعات إلى معالجة نقص الإمدادات الذي يعيق النمو الاقتصادي وتوسع الأنشطة الصناعية والتعدينية في البلاد.
تتضمن الخطط تطوير شبكات النقل والتوزيع وتنفيذ مراحل جديدة من مشروع إنجا للطاقة الكهرومائية.
