المملكة تؤكّد أهمية تعزيز التعاون الدولي لمكافحة الاتجار غير المشروع بالأسلحة

أكّدت المملكة العربية السعودية اهتمام المجموعة العربية المتزايد بمكافحة الاتجار غير المشروع بالأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة، في ضوء الآثار الكارثية لهذه الظاهرة على المستويات الأمنية والإنسانية والاقتصادية.

جاء ذلك في كلمة المملكة لدى الأمم المتحدة، التي ألقاها المندوب الدائم للمملكة لدى الأمم المتحدة الدكتور عبدالعزيز الواصل، مشددًا على أهمية برنامج العمل بوصفه إطارًا أمميًا توافقيًا لمكافحة الاتجار غير المشروع بالأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة، وتعزيز الثقة والتعاون بين الدول.

وأكّد أن برنامج العمل يُعد إطارًا دوليًا قائمًا بذاته، مع ضرورة عدم تداخل تنفيذه مع أي آليات دولية أخرى لا تحظى بالتوافق، مشيرًا إلى أهمية التعاون الدولي والمساعدات الفنية في تنفيذ البرنامج، بما في ذلك نقل التكنولوجيا ذات الصلة وبناء القدرات الوطنية.

ودعت المملكة إلى مواصلة دراسة آثار التطورات التكنولوجية الحديثة، بما في ذلك الأسلحة المعيارية والأسلحة المصنّعة من المواد البوليمرية وتقنيات الطباعة ثلاثية الأبعاد، بما يسهم في مواجهة التحديات المرتبطة بهذه الظاهرة.
