الهند: دون ماء أو تكييف، المواطنون البسطاء يعانون من تبعات موجات الحر العنيفة

ثمان وتسعون مدينة من بين مائة مدينة في العالم سجلت أكثر درجات حرارة في نهاية أبريل الماضي، تقع في الهند، فقد تجاوزت درجات الحرارة القصوى اليومية ستا وأربعين درجة مئوية في بعض مناطق الهند، الدولة الأكثر اكتظاظا بالسكان في العالم، إذ يبلغ عدد سكانها قرابة مليار ونصف المليار نسمة يعيش ربعهم على أقل من خمسة دولارات في اليوم، ثلاثمائة وثمانون مليون هندي يعملون في وظائف غير رسمية معرضين للحرارة الشديدة. ليصبح إنعدام إمكانية الحصول على مكيفات الهواء مسألة حياة أو موت. حدثت سبع وثلاثون حالة وفاة مرتبطة بموجة الحر حسب الأرقام الرسمية فيما تقول بعض المنظمات إن هذا الرقم لا يعكس الحقيقة والواقع. يأتي النقص الحاد في المياه في العديد من مناطق البلاد ليزيد من وطأة موجات الحر الشديدة.
