الولايات المتحدة.. البنتاغون يغلق أبوابه في وجه الإعلام؟

قررت وزارة الحرب الأمريكية منع الصحافيين من دخول مكتبها الصحفي معتبرة أنه بات يضم موظفين بحوزتهم أسرار عسكرية تتعين حمايتها من الفضول الإعلامي. وكان البنتاغون قد فرض في أوقات سابقة قيودا على تحركات الإعلاميين داخل الوزارة وألزمهم بتوقيع تعهدات بعدم السعي للحصول على بعض المعلومات أو نشرها إلا بعد موافقة صريحة من الوزارة، ما أفضى عمليا إلى تخلي مراسلي وسائل إعلام محلية ودولية عن اعتماداتهم لدى وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية تعبيرا عن رفضهم لتوقيع تلك التعهدات. ما هي دوافع هذه الإجراءات؟ هل تقتضي حماية أسرار الدفاع تقييد العمل الصحفي؟ وهل تتعارض اعتبارات الأمن القومي مع حق الجمهور في الحصول على معلومات من خارج البيانات الرسمية عن وزارة تدير موازنة عامة ضخمة وتؤثر قراراتها في حياة الناس داخل الولايات المتحدة وخارجها؟
