أنفق المرشحون 275 مليون دولار على إعلانات تركز على قضية الفساد الحكومي خلال الدورة الانتخابية الحالية.
أظهرت استطلاعات رأي أن 89% من الأمريكيين يعتقدون بانتشار الفساد الحكومي كقضية أهم من المخاوف الاقتصادية.
خصص الديمقراطيون 173 مليون دولار من ميزانية الإعلانات للفساد مقابل 93 مليون دولار للجمهوريين.
واجه الجمهوريون تداعيات اتهامات تتعلق بفساد إدارة ترامب بينما اتهم الديمقراطيون خصومهم بالفساد وتكبد دافعي الضرائب خسائر.

في ظل حالة الاستقطاب السياسي التي تشهدها القاعدة الانتخابية الأمريكية، قد يكون من الصعب التوصل إلى توافق عابر للانقسام الحزبي حول العديد من القضايا، باستثناء القلق بشأن الفساد الحكومي
