انتخابات جنوب إفريقيا المحلية تختبر شعبية حزب المؤتمر الوطني الإفريقي

يخوض أكثر من 500 حزب في جنوب أفريقيا انتخابات محلية للتنافس على نحو 10 آلاف مقعد في المجالس البلدية.
تمثل هذه الانتخابات اختباراً لحزب المؤتمر الوطني الأفريقي الذي يواجه تراجعاً في شعبيته وانحساراً في قاعدته الانتخابية.
تواجه البلديات انتقادات بسبب سوء الإدارة والفساد وصعوبات في توفير الخدمات العامة الأساسية.
تطمح أحزاب أخرى لتحقيق مكاسب سياسية، مما قد يضطر القوى المتنافسة لتشكيل ائتلافات في المناطق التي لا تحقق أياً منها أغلبية مطلقة.
