بسبب “هدية الـ 5 ملايين”.. نايجل فاراج يستقيل من البرلمان البريطاني

أعلن زعيم حزب الإصلاح البريطاني REFORM UK نايجل فاراج، استقالته من منصبه نائبا في البرلمان لتفعيل انتخابات فرعية في مقعده، مؤكدا خوضه الانتخابات التكميلية في كلاكتون من أجل اكتساب الثقة.

وواجه فاراج ضغوطاً متزايدة في ظل استمرار الجدل بشأن تلقيه هدية مالية بقيمة 5 ملايين جنيه إسترليني والتي قدمت له قبل انتخابه في عام 2024 من داعمين بارزين.

وكان فاراج قد أحيل إلى لجنة الأخلاقيات في البرلمان البريطاني للتحقيق في مزاعم عدم الإفصاح عن الدعم المالي.

وأكد فاراج أنه “لم يرتكب أي خطأ” وأنه “الشخصية العامة الأكثر تعرضًا للهجوم في العصر الحديث” على حد قوله، وأنه يعتزم إعادة الترشح إلى مقعده النيابي السابق.
