ترمب يُبلغ الكونغرس بصفقة بيع محركات طائرات مقاتلة لتركيا

أبلغت إدارة الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الكونغرس رسميا بنيتها المضي في صفقة بيع محركات طائرات مقاتلة لتركيا بقيمة تتجاوز 700 مليون دولار. وتأتي هذه الخطوة كبادرة دعم مهمة لأنقرة قبيل قمة حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو) المقررة في تركيا الشهر المقبل.

وستُستخدم هذه المحركات، المنتجة من شركة « جنرال إلكتريك »، لتشغيل المقاتلة « قآن »، وهي أول طائرة مقاتلة شبح تُصنع محلياً في تركيا ضمن جهودها لتحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي الدفاعي وتقليل الاعتماد على المقاتلات الأميركية « إف-16 ».

وعلى الرغم من معارضة بعض المشرعين الديمقراطيين البارزين، وفي مقدمتهم النائب غريغوري ميكس، بسبب حيازة تركيا لمنظومة الدفاع الصاروخي الروسية « إس-400 » عام 2019، أكدت وزارة الخارجية الأميركية أنها نظرت في الاعتبارات السياسية والعسكرية والاقتصادية قبل منح الترخيص. ويمتلك الكونغرس مهلة 15 يوما لتقديم قرار مشترك لرفض الصفقة، والذي يتطلب موافقة مجلسي النواب والشيوخ.
