أثار توجه الحكومة البريطانية نحو فرض قيود على استخدام مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لمن هم دون سن 16 عامًا حالة من الجدل السياسي بين لندن وواشنطن، بعد اعتراض البيت الأبيض على هذه الخطوة، معتبرًا أنها قد تفرض أعباء تنظيمية غير متناسبة على شركات التكنولوجيا الأمريكية. البيت الأبيض يعارض حظر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي
