التحرك العسكري المصري لدعم المملكة العربية السعودية هو تحرك دفاعي بحت لحماية أمن وسيادة المملكة.
الهدف من إرسال القوات هو التصدي لهجمات المسيرات والصواريخ الباليستية من الحوثيين.
تتضمن عملية الدفاع إرسال أنظمة دفاع جوي وخبراء عسكريين مصريين إلى السعودية.
يتمثل التعاون بين البلدين في تنسيق استخباراتي وأمني لحفظ أمن المملكة العربية السعودية.

علق اللواء أركان حرب أسامة كبير المستشار بكلية القادة والأركان، على موافقة البرلمان على تفويض الرئيس السيسي بإرسال قوات دفاعية للملكة العربية السعودية .
