استعرض سكرتير المجلس الدولي للمطارات - إقليم أفريقيا مستقبل المطارات في مواجهة التحديات المناخية خلال ندوة منظمة الطيران المدني الدولي بالقاهرة.
ناقشت الندوة سبل تعزيز مرونة المطارات وتحويل خطط التكيف مع التغيرات المناخية إلى إجراءات عملية لحماية البنية التحتية والعمليات التشغيلية.
تضمنت الجلسات استعراض دروس مستفادة من حالات فعلية لاضطرابات مناخية، وبحث آليات التمويل والشراكات لدعم مشروعات البنية التحتية المستدامة.
أكدت التقارير أهمية التحرك العاجل لقطاع الطيران لمواجهة آثار المناخ، حيث أظهرت الإحصاءات أن 73% من الجهات تعرضت لاضطرابات مناخية.
