تسعى جهات متعددة داخل وخارج السودان إلى إشعال نزاع عسكري وسياسي واجتماعي بين مصر والسودان بقصد تخريب هذه العلاقة الاستراتيجية التي تطابقت أهدافها دفاعًا عن وجود الشعب السوداني ووحدة أراضيه واستقلال قراره السياسي، ويبدو أن هناك جهات أجنبية نجحت في الدخول على خطوط مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لتوجيه الرأي العام الشعبوي السوداني نحو صدام يصنعه الأعباء.
