تتضاءل فرص المعارضة الإسرائيلية في تشكيل حكومة بسبب الضغوط الأمريكية والصعود التاريخي للأحزاب العربية.
لم يتمكن أي من طرفي الانتخابات من الحصول على المقاعد الستين والواحد اللازمة لضمان الأغلبية المطلقة.
يواجه غادي آيزنكوت مأزقاً في المفاضلة بين التزامه بعدم التحالف مع الأحزاب العربية وبين حاجته لأصواتها لتأمين الأغلبية.
تعتمد الضغوط الأمريكية على تشكيل حكومة وحدة وطنية تستبعد اليمين المتطرف والأحزاب العربية والحريدية.
