  • أدى استخدام الفيتو المزدوج من روسيا وأمريكا إلى إنهاء مهمة المينورسو في الصحراء.
  • كسب المغرب زخماً دولياً عبر القرار 2797 الذي جعل مقترح الحكم الذاتي إطاراً للتفاوض.
  • أفادت الجزائر بتأسفها على انحلال الأساس القانوني لبعثة المينورسو مع إبداء الأمل في حل سياسي.
