«من أوبرا الخديوي إلى كابوس الفواتير».. القصة الكاملة للكهرباء في مصر خلال 160 عامًا

ما يعرفه ريفو عن الخبر

  • بدأت أولى خطوات استخدام الكهرباء في مصر في النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر خلال عهد الخديوي إسماعيل.
  • تم افتتاح أول محطة لتوليد الكهرباء في مصر في نوفمبر 1895 باستخدام غاز الاستصباح المستخرج من الفحم.
  • بدأ استخدام الكهرباء في إنارة المنازل بالقاهرة عام 1897، وتنوعت استخداماتها لتشمل القنصليات والفنادق والكنائس والمدارس.
  • بدأ العمل على ترشيد استهلاك الكهرباء منذ عام 1917 عبر قرارات حكومية بتخفيض الإضاءة العمومية ومنع الإعلانات المضيئة.

لا حديث في مصر حاليًا أكثر سخونة من فواتير الكهرباء، في ظل حملة الحكومة لترشيد الطاقة، وترجع قصة استخدام الكهرباء إلى النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر، ففي عام 1863، وفي عهد الخديوي إسماعيل، كانت البدايات الأولى لاستخدام الكهرباء في مصر، خاصة مع افتتاح قناة السويس وإقامة الاحتفالات وبناء دار الأوبرا لمواكبة هذه الاحتفالات، وحرص الخديوي على أن تكون الإضاءة هي مفاجأة الزائرين لدار الأوبرا الملكية.
