تستعد وكالة الفضاء والطيران الأميركية (ناسا) للإعلان عن صفقة ضخمة لشراء صواريخ فضاء لصالح مشروع بناء قاعدة دائمة على سطح القمر بتكلفة تبلغ 30 مليار دولار.

ونقلت بلومبرغ عن كارلوس غارسيا غالان، مدير برنامج قاعدة القمر في وكالة ناسا في مقابلة معها القول “نقيم الأمور مثل قيام ناسا بشراء كمية من الصواريخ التي يمكن أن تخدم كل احتياجات قاعدتنا القمرية.. قد نعلن في المستقبل القريب عن المجموعة الأولى من حزمة المشتريات” المستهدفة.

يذكر أن المرحلة الأولى من مشروع إقامة قاعدة دائمة لاستضافة مجموعة من البشر للعمل والحياة على سطح القمر بدأت بالفعل، حيث تخطط وكالة ناسا لإرسال مركبات هبوط وروبوتات جوالة لاستكشاف مواقع وموارد القمر خلال 2028، لكن الوكالة ستحتاج إلى صواريخ فضاء أكبر في 2029 لإرسال معدة تزن 60 طنا إلى سطح القمر لإقامة أنظمة الطاقة، والمساكن وغيرها من البنية التحتية اللازمة لإقامة البشر على سطح القمر بصورة دائمة.

لكن الوكالة تواجه في هذه المرحلة الثانية الأكثر طموحا مشكلة، حيث تتابع تباطؤ نشاط صاروخ الفضاء فالكون 9 التابع لشركة الفضاء وتكنولوجيا الذكاء الاصطناعي الأميركية سبيس إكس وهو الصاروخ الأكثر استخداما في الولايات المتحدة والعالم.

وفي وقت سابق ذكرت سبيس إكس أنها بدأت رفض طلبات مشغلي الأقمار الصناعية الراغبين في حجز رحلات على متن هذا الصاروخ الأساسي لما بعد عام 2028. ومن شأن غياب هذا الصاروخ ونظيره الأكبر حجما “فالكون الثقيل” عن السوق أن يسبب مشاكل لخطط “ناسا” الرامية لإنشاء قاعدة على سطح القمر.

وفي هذا الصدد، قال غارسيا-غالان “ندرك المشكلة القادمة مبكرا، فنحن ندركها الآن. لقد تحلت سبيس إكس بالشفافية بشأن خططها، مما أتاح لنا خيار البحث عن بدائل، وهو ما قمنا به بالفعل”.
