طور البروفيسور الصيني رين شياوبينغ نهجاً تجريبياً يسمى جيميني لإعادة ربط أجزاء الحبل الشوكي المتضررة.
تعتمد التقنية على الجمع بين الجراحة المجهرية واستخدام مركب كيميائي يسمى بولي إيثيلين جلايكول لمساعدة الخلايا على الالتئام.
أجريت عملية جراحية تجريبية في موسكو استغرقت 12 ساعة لزراعة أنسجة حبل شوكي من متبرع في حالة إصابة معقدة.
يهدف هذا النهج إلى استعادة الوصلات العصبية المفقودة وتجاوز عقبات التجدد الطبيعي للأعصاب في الحبل الشوكي.

شهدت موسكو إجراء عملية جراحية تجريبية استغرقت 12 ساعة، تبنت نهجا طموحا لمعالجة واحدة من أصعب التحديات في الطب، إعادة ربط الحبل الشوكي المتضرر، تحت إشراف الجراح الصيني البروفيسور “رين شياوبينغ”، يجمع هذا الأسلوب بين الجراحة المجهرية، ومركب كيميائي خاص، واستراتيجيات إعادة التأهيل، وذلك لاستكشاف إمكانية استعادة الوصلات العصبية المفقودة.
