2 suspected robbers killed in Bangi shootout

KUALA LUMPUR: Two suspected hardcore criminals were shot dead in a firefight with police during an operation by Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Kajang on Monday night.

The incident occurred at about 9.10pm along Jalan Persiaran Seri Putra 2, Bandar Seri Putera, Bangi Lama.

Bukit Aman CID director Datuk M. Kumar said the shootout involved two local men believed to be linked to a string of armed robberies across the Klang Valley.

Following the incident, police recovered a revolver with several rounds of ammunition and spent shells, along with four machetes, burglary tools, face masks and gloves believed to have been used in criminal activities.

Authorities said the suspects are believed to be hardened criminals involved in multiple robbery cases in the Klang Valley.

Police are expected to hold a press conference on the case later today.
