30pc rental discount for petty traders in Putrajaya
Petty traders in Putrajaya will receive a 30 per cent reduction in monthly rental starting June 1.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said this applied to traders operating at food courts, hawker stalls and markets owned by Putrajaya Corporation.
“This initiative, effective for 12 months from June 1 to May 31 next year, is expected to benefit 244 traders,” she said after visiting the Presint 9 food court here.
She added that to qualify for the discount, traders must first settle all outstanding rental payments up to this month.
“This measure gives them the opportunity to reorganise their rental commitments in a more stable and sustainable manner.”
During her visit, Yeoh announced a Putrajaya Corporation initiative aimed at supporting senior citizens by offering between 10 and 15 per cent discounts on food and beverages at the food court.
“The discount is exclusively for senior citizens aged 60 and above, and does not apply to the entire family.
“With the 30 per cent rental reduction, traders can pass on a part of the savings to senior citizens, creating a win-win situation for all.
“After the 12-month period, an assessment will be conducted to evaluate the initiative,” she added.
