Kanlaon Volcano emits ash on Thursday – Phivolcs
MANILA, Philippines — Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island was seen emitting ash on Thursday, state seismologists said. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the ash emission began at around 6 a.m. as captured by the camera of Kanlaon Volcano Observatory in Canlaon City. According to Phivolcs’ advisory, “This event generated grayish plumes that rose 1200 meters above the crater before drifting southwest.” Phivolcs said Alert Level 2, indicating increased unrest remains in effect.
