Ex-army spokesman loses wife to heart attack
Brigadier-General Mohammed Danjuma Yusuf (Rtd), a former Director of the Directorate of the Army Public Relations at Army Headquarters, has lost his wife, Hajiya Nana Hauwa Yusuf.
It was learnt that Hajiya Hauwa, who passed on in the early hours of Sunday, May 31, 2026, at about 5:00am, died of a heart attack.
Daily Trust reports that the deceased was the Director of Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilisation at the Primary Health Care Department of the FCT Primary Health Care Board before her retirement in 2024.
The late Kogi-born Hauwa was said to have celebrated her 62nd birthday with friends, family members and colleagues on May 3, 2026, at her residence in Abuja.
A son of the deceased, Mohammed Dantala Yusuf, who confirmed her death via a statement issued on Monday, disclosed that the deceased died at the National Hospital Emergency Ward.
Dantala explained that their late mother was buried the same day at about 2pm at the Gudu Cemetery in line with Islamic rites.
