Pahang police probe alleged senator slap involving Nik Aziz’s grandson at Janda Baik programme

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — The investigation into a case involving the grandson of the late Kelantan menteri besar Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, who allegedly claimed he was slapped by a senator during an official university programme in Janda Baik, has been handed over to Pahang police.

According to Harian Metro, Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said police in Kelantan only received the report lodged by the victim at the Kota Bharu district police headquarters.

“For further investigation, the case has been handed over to Pahang police. We only received the police report, which was lodged at IPD Kota Bharu,” he said today.

Earlier, Nik Alif Aiman Abdul Ariffahmi, the grandson of the former Kelantan menteri besar, alleged that he was slapped by a senator during a university programme in Janda Baik, Pahang, on May 20.

He said the incident allegedly took place at about 6pm after a lecture session held in conjunction with the Bangsa Empowerment Programme 2.0 at the Institut Latihan Memperkasa Ummah (ILMU).

According to him, the invited speaker at the programme was a senator who was also introduced as a board member of a university.

He claimed that during a casual interaction after a photo session, a deputy vice-chancellor informed the senator of his family background as Nik Abdul Aziz’s grandson.

Nik Alif alleged that the conversation later turned political, during which the senator allegedly criticised PAS before suddenly slapping his left cheek with his right hand.
