TMJ celebrates JDT’s dominance after fourth consecutive Malaysia Cup win
KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) latest Malaysia Cup triumph drew an emotional and grateful response from team owner Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail, who described the clash against Kuching City as one of the best finals in recent memory.
In a post on X shortly after the final whistle at the TM National Stadium, he expressed gratitude and praised both teams for delivering a showcase of pure footballing spirit.
“ALLAHUAKBAR. God determines all sustenance. Best quality final, no politics, no hate — pure passion and love. Congratulations JDT, and thank you Kuching City FC. Praise be to God,” he posted.
JDT secured a 2–0 victory over Kuching City to become the first team in Malaysian football history to win the Malaysia Cup four times in a row.

The win also sealed a historic fourth consecutive domestic quadruple — an unprecedented achievement in Liga Malaysia.
It capped a flawless season for the Southern Tigers, who had earlier lifted the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup and FA Cup, while extending their dominance in the Super League with a 12th straight title.
JDT also continued their world-record undefeated league streak, going 108 league matches without defeat.
Kuching City, making a historic appearance in their first-ever Malaysia Cup final, held JDT scoreless for more than 80 minutes before the champions finally broke through.
Goals in the closing stages from Marcos Guilherme (80th minute) and Arif Aiman Hanapi (90+1st) sealed the victory.
