HomeAid congratulates GHBA ‘Of the Year Award’ winners
HomeAid Houston, a 501(c)(3), is grateful to be able to work with many generous members of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), since the agency became the GHBA Charity of Choice 18 years ago. These partnerships have been key to HomeAid’s success as they work within their mission: To build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach.
Several of these organizations were honored recently at GHBA’s annual “Of the Year Awards” virtual event. These awards were presented to the various companies, based on building industry involvement, association participation and an overall commitment to continuing education within the field. Due to COVID-19 distancing, the winners were announced through Zoom by GHBA Board president, Keith Luechtefeld.
The 2020 Developer “Of the Year Award” winner was Travis Stone, with Airia Development Co. Stone is a long-time member and supporter of the GHBA.His company, Airia, was a Diamond Partner, in 2020 and currently in 2021. He is an experienced developer in Montgomery and Fort Bend Counties, has served on Fort Bend County-related taskforces; has been involved with political advocacy through Government Affairs, and is one of the pioneers in residential land development specializing in master-planned communities.
The 2020 Volume Builder “Of the Year Award” was presented to Empire Communities, led by James Mille. Empire Communities has been a great supporter of both the GHBA and HomeAid Houston. Empire stepped up to the plate to take on the construction of an 8,100-square-foot cottage in 2019-2020 for Boys and Girls Country in Hockley, a HomeAid charity project.
