Man, woman killed in Jalan Taiping–Bagan Serai crash

IPOH: A man and a woman were killed, while another man suffered minor injuries, in a collision involving a Toyota Innova and a Perodua Myvi along Jalan Taiping–Bagan Serai this evening.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said firefighters from the Bagan Serai station were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 4.56pm.

He said the 66-year-old driver of the Perodua Myvi was found trapped and unconscious, while a 51-year-old female passenger had been pulled from the vehicle by members of the public before rescuers arrived.

“However, both victims from the Perodua Myvi were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel,” he said in a statement.

Sabarodzi said the 46-year-old driver of the Toyota Innova sustained minor injuries and was taken to Parit Buntar Hospital for treatment.
