Boy killed, 11 injured in 3-vehicle crash
KUANTAN: A boy was killed while 11 others were injured in an accident involving three vehicles on the Segamat-Kuantan Highway near Muadzam Shah early this morning.
A spokesman for the Pahang fire and rescue department said a team from the Muadzam Shah fire and rescue station was dispatched following an emergency call at 1.12am.
The accident involved three vehicles – a Proton Saga, Perodua Alza, and Perodua Axia – each carrying four individuals.
“Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters carried out an operation to extricate victims trapped inside the Proton Saga. A young boy who was pinned inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical team from the health ministry,” he said when contacted today.
The body was handed over to the police for further action while the injured victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
