11 men charged over alleged organised crime group Geng RT6
KUALA LUMPUR: Eleven men were charged at the Sessions Court today with allegedly being members of an organised criminal group known as Geng RT6 since 2020.
The accused were brought into the courtroom under heavy escort by Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department and Criminal Investigation Department.
They were identified as A. Raja Ratanam, K. Sunthreson, C. Vijaya Kumar, N. Nadarajah, T. Raman, R. Vijayan, M. Kumaaran, N. Harichandran, S. Maran, Suwaran Singh and Mohd Atif Mohammad Ali Khan, aged between 22 and 48.
They appeared before judge Izralizam Sanusi and were charged with being members of the gang between Jan 14, 2020 and April 27 in Sentul.
They nodded to indicate that they understood the charge, which is framed under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code and carries a jail term of not less than five years and up to 20 years.
No plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Judge Izralizam denied bail and fixed June 24 for mention.
