Jeremy Clarkson finally changed the rules at his pub and is selling a ‘banned’ drink
Since opening in 2024, Jeremy Clarkson’s pub has had several strict rules in place.
The former Top Gear presenter only allows products ‘grown and reared’ in Britain to be stocked and sold in The Farmer’s Dog in Asthall, Oxfordshire.
As such, items like coffee, Coca-Cola and Heinz ketchup are banned, and there have been restrictions on the alcohol offered behind the bar.
The 66-year-old’s Hawkstone beer has long been available, as well as Hedgerow Cider, and Diddly Squat Farm Bee Juice Whisky, but for the last two years, there had been no wine on the menu, as Jeremy didn’t think English wine was very good.
However, that’s all about to change, much to the delight of wine-loving punters visiting his Cotswolds tavern.
The Farmer’s Dog has just unveiled its own wine range, known as Knollbury Fort.
The brand is said to have been created ‘to champion British farming and modern English winemaking.’
A statement from the pub added: ‘There was a time when English wine was like a child’s recorder playing; you wanted to like it, but it wasn’t very good. Fortunately, that time has gone.’
Launched over the bank holiday weekend at The Great British Farm-Fest, there are three new wines for Clarkson’s Farm fans to try.
First is a Firelight Pinot Noir, which uses grapes from Essex, next there’s a Midsummer Rosé, with grapes from Kent, and finally Arrowhead White, which features a blend of grapes grown in Kent, Essex and Suffolk.
The Firelight Pinot Noir is the most expensive of the trio, setting you back £28.95 for a bottle.
The Midsummer Rosé is priced at £22.95, while the cheapest is the Arrowhead White for £21.95. A case containing all three bottles is £69.
All three bottles are available to buy in the pub, at the Diddly Squat farm shop and online as single bottles or cases of six.

On TikTok, @henrysouthan noted that ‘it’s like arriving at Glastonbury’ and had to park in a field, despite having a reservation. He then went on to critique the ‘very dry’ food.
And @h0neybadg3rrr agreed, saying: ‘It’s a weird vibe in there. Food is mid.’
While @Lucygx83 said simply: ‘I’ll stick to Toby Carvery’.
But not everyone shared this sentiment, with @idv94 sharing: ‘The pub is SO pretty.’
And @too.far.toby said: ‘Me and the family took a trip and I can confirm it is a great experience. This pub only uses British ingredients, and as a result, the food is amazing. There is also lots of merch and farm products in the shop. It can get busy, but it is worth a visit!’
