Abandoned baby girl found at Johor hatch with note naming her Ainul Inaayah
JOHOR BARU: A baby girl abandoned at the OrphanCare Foundation baby hatch in Taman Pelangi here on March 26 was found with a note bearing the name Ainul Inaayah Abdul Hadi.
Johor Baru district welfare officer Khairu Asri Ismail said the note also stated the meaning of the name — “bearer of light” — and indicated the baby was born at 10am on March 22.
He said no other documents were found with the infant, who is now believed to be about two months old.
“The Social Welfare Department received a referral from the Medical Social Work Department at Sultanah Aminah Hospital on March 26.
“A police report was subsequently lodged at the Taman Pelangi police station, and the baby is currently under the temporary care of a suitable guardian,” he said in a statement today.
Khairu Asri said the department was attempting to trace the baby’s relatives to discuss her future, adding that the Johor Baru Court for Children had granted permission for the infant’s photograph to be published for that purpose.
Those with information are urged to contact child protector Sheron Malanting at 07-2282971.
