Aidiladha 2026: Pahang Sultan aligns with Selangor Ruler to warn against Malay-Muslim divisions

KUANTAN: Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today called on the people, particularly Malays and Muslims, to continue safeguarding unity, avoid divisions and not be easily influenced by matters that could disrupt social harmony.

His Royal Highness said Aidiladha symbolises sacrifice, sincerity and the strength of ukhuwah (brotherhood) among Muslims.

“The gathering of millions of Muslims in the Holy Land, regardless of race, status and background, proves that Islam calls on its followers to remain united, respect one another and strengthen brotherhood,” His Royal Highness said in a message in conjunction with Aidiladha 2026.

Al-Sultan Abdullah noted that Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, in his Aidiladha message, had also urged Muslims and Malays in the country to remain united and avoid divisions that could weaken the community and create unease among the people.

His Royal Highness said the strength of a nation does not depend solely on economic progress and development, but also on the unity of its people, social stability and mutual respect among races and religions.

The Sultan also expressed hope that the people of Pahang would continue to uphold good values, strengthen the spirit of consensus and prioritise the common good for the sake of peace and national wellbeing.

In the message, His Royal Highness and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah also extended Aidiladha greetings to Muslims, especially those in Pahang.

“On this occasion, Tengku Ampuan of Pahang and I also pray that all Malaysian haj pilgrims will have their religious duties eased, be blessed with good health, attain a mabrur haj and return home safely,” His Royal Highness said.
