Anwar launches DNA Faisal Halim Football Academy to nurture grassroots talent

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched the DNA Faisal Halim Football Academy in Mengkuang Titi, Penang, as part of efforts to develop grassroots football and unearth young local talent.

Anwar said the academy was not merely a place for training, but also a platform to instil discipline, fighting spirit and self-confidence among youths.

“I believe the future of sports in the country depends on efforts to nurture young talent with values such as hard work, good manners and strong commitment,” he said in a Facebook post today.

He also expressed hope that the academy would produce more young talents capable of bringing glory to the country.

Faisal is a key player for the Harimau Malaya and Selangor FC football teams, and is known for his skilful play and consistent performances at both domestic and international levels. — BERNAMA
