Apad probing cause of LRT train derailment

PETALING JAYA: The Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) is currently probing the cause of the LRT train derailment on the Ampang-Sri Petaling Line yesterday.
In a statement, Apad said it was also looking into SOP compliance, the safety systems in place, train operations, and aspects related to train maintenance.
“The operators have been instructed to submit a full report on the incident as soon as possible.”
Yesterday, Rapid KL confirmed that one of its trains derailed while passing a railway switch near Chan Sow Lin station.
However, no injuries were reported among the 25 passengers on board the train when the incident occurred.
Transport minister Loke Siew Fook has since ordered Apad to impose the maximum possible penalty on Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.
Prasarana Malaysia Bhd operates the Rapid KL public transport network in the Klang Valley through its subsidiaries, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd and Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd.
