APC Primaries: Tinubu Floors Lone Rival With 310,000 Votes In Kwara

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday recorded a sweeping victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Kwara State.

He polled 310,990 votes to defeat his lone challenger, Stanley Osifo, who secured no vote.

The result was announced at the Kwara APC presidential primary collation centre in Ilorin by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who served as the state collation officer for the exercise.

AbdulRazaq said a total of 457,374 party members were registered for the exercise, while 310,990 members were accredited and participated in the voting process across the state.

According to the governor, all the accredited voters cast valid votes during the primary.

“I, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Collation Officer of the 2026 APC presidential primaries for Kwara State, hereby present the result of the state as follows: Total number of registered party members, 457,374. Total number of accredited voters, 310,990. Total number of votes cast, 310,990,” he said.

“At the end of the voting exercise, the aspirants scored the following votes: Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 310,990. Stanley Osifo, nil.”

“His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having satisfied the requirements of the APC guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner,” AbdulRazaq added.

The presidential primary marked the final phase of the APC primary elections in Kwara State, following earlier contests for the House of Representatives, Senate, House of Assembly and governorship positions.

The governorship primary had generated significant political tension within the ruling party after the contest was initially suspended midway into the process before Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, eventually emerged as the APC governorship candidate.
