Cabinet ministers, state leaders urge sacrifice, reflection in Aidiladha greetings

KUALA LUMPUR: Cabinet ministers and state leaders today extended Aidiladha greetings ahead of tomorrow’s celebration, urging Muslims to reflect on the true meaning of sacrifice, strengthen unity and uphold values of compassion, sincerity and gratitude.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said Muslims should appreciate and apply the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son, Prophet Ismail AS, in their daily lives.

Saifuddin Nasution, who is currently performing haj, also conveyed Aidiladha greetings to security personnel safeguarding the nation’s borders and reminded those travelling to their home towns to exercise caution on the roads.

“I also call on those returning to their home towns to always be careful on the road, so that our arrival will be joyfully welcomed by our loved ones,” he said in a Facebook video.

Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said Aidiladha serves as a reminder of Prophet Ibrahim AS and Prophet Ismail AS’ obedience to Allah SWT and encourages Muslims to embrace sacrifice, sincerity, gratitude and compassion.

He said the celebration should strengthen humility and encourage continued efforts to help those in need.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said Aidiladha is not merely observed through ritual sacrifice but also through compassion, unity and social responsibility.

He said Malaysians should continue choosing unity over division while nurturing mutual respect and understanding in a diverse society.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo also conveyed Aidiladha greetings, expressing hope the celebration would strengthen gratitude and togetherness.

The Transport Ministry similarly hoped Aidiladha 1447H would bring peace and well-being while encouraging Malaysians to continue embracing sacrifice, compassion and unity.

State leaders also echoed similar messages.

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor called on Muslims to draw lessons from the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim AS and Prophet Ismail AS in facing life’s challenges.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said Aidiladha carries meaning beyond sacrifice, inspiring Muslims to continue giving, sharing and strengthening family and community bonds.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the celebration reminds Muslims of responsibilities towards religion, family and society.

Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said sacrifice remains essential in nation-building, particularly in facing economic challenges and uncertainties with patience and maturity.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said Aidiladha should strengthen ties within communities and foster unity.

Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud said Muslims should continue sacrificing time, energy and resources in upholding faith and values, while also expressing solidarity with Palestinians.

The leaders collectively called on Malaysians to embody Aidiladha’s spirit of sacrifice and compassion in strengthening social unity and nation-building.
