Chukwueze Set To Rejoin AC Milan After Fulham Opt Against Permanent Deal

Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze is preparing to return to Italy this summer after Premier League side Fulham decided against making his loan move permanent.

The 27-year-old winger moved to Craven Cottage on a season-long temporary deal from AC Milan last summer, with the West London club holding an option to buy the player outright at the conclusion of the campaign. However, despite some promising flashes in the top flight of English football, the Cottagers have formally resolved not to trigger that clause.

Throughout the gruelling Premier League campaign, Chukwueze managed a relatively modest return of three goals and four assists for Marco Silva’s side. While he provided valuable depth and injected genuine pace into Fulham’s transitional play, the club hierarchy ultimately deemed the overall financial package required for a permanent transfer too high for the output provided.

According to football outlet Tuttomercato, Chukwueze will now head straight back to San Siro once his loan agreement officially expires. It leaves the dynamic wide man in a somewhat precarious position regarding his long-term future.

Prior to his temporary relocation to London, the Super Eagles star endured a thoroughly frustrating and difficult two-year spell with the Rossoneri, struggling to cement a regular starting spot under the intense tactical demands of Serie A.

With AC Milan currently reassessing their squad dynamics ahead of the upcoming European season, it remains to be seen whether Chukwueze will be integrated back into the first-team plans or immediately placed on the transfer list.
