DA expands agri land moratorium exemption for gov’t services

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Agriculture (DA) has expanded the exemptions to the moratorium on the reclassification of agricultural lands to ensure unhampered government services. Under Department Circular No. 27, the DA exempted agro-industrial zones and agri support facilities from the land-use reclassification ban to avoid disrupting government projects. READ: DA freezes agricultural land reclassification applications Agro-industrial zones cover integrated farming and agricultural processing activities, including plantations and processing facilities. Back in January, the DA imposed a six-month moratorium on issuing certifications on land-use reclassification to safeguard agricultural lands against undue conversion.
