Danes deny Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin’s dream Malaysia Masters title in home heartbreak

Malay Mail

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 — Malaysian professional men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani fell short in their bid to win their first title of the season after losing to Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard in the 2026 Malaysia Masters final today.

In the final held at Arena Unifi here, Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin got off to a shaky start, trailing 0-7 before fighting back with six straight points to take an 11-10 lead.

However, the comeback momentum proved short-lived, allowing the Danish pair to claim the opening set 21-16.

The second set saw the world No. 9 pair tighten up their game to open up a comfortable 8-4 advantage.

But the same script unfolded again as Lundgaard-Vestergaard clawed their way back to level at 12-12 before sealing the match with a 21-17 victory.

The win saw the Danish duo take home prize money of about US$37,525 (RM148,900). — Bernama
