The opposition Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has cleared three Presidential aspirants to contest for the primary of the party slated for May 25, 2025.

PRP gave the names of the party members and Presidential aspirants as Dr. Nnaoke Ufere from Abia State, Engr. Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley from Edo State and Donald Duke, a Former Governor of Cross River State.

The party has also decided to adopt direct primaries in deciding the flag bearer of the party.

In a statement made available to Daily Trust on Saturday, Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, National Publicity Secretary of the party said PRP is committed to upholding democratic values and ensure a free and fair process for all aspirants and party members.

The PRP spokesman also said the three cleared presidential aspirants of the Peoples Redemption Party have convened and “unanimously agreed to submit their aspirations to the will of our party members during upcoming primaries scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026, across all parts of the country.”

He said the PRP takes pride in the caliber of its aspirants, whose dedication to democratic principles and commitment to teamwork have further strengthened the party.

Part of the statement also said PRP is committed to conducting credible, transparent, and free primaries, involving over 260 aspirants competing for various elective offices, especially in instances where consensus is not achievable.
