Ed Sheeran Brings LOOP Tour to Costa Rica This Saturday

San José is gearing up for one of the biggest concert events the country has seen in years. On Saturday, May 30, 2026, British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will take the stage at the Estadio Nacional in Mata Redonda, with the show scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The concert is part of his global LOOP Tour and serves as the final date on a Latin American run that has already taken him through the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Guatemala.

For Costa Rican fans, the occasion carries extra meaning. It has been nearly a decade since Sheeran last performed in our country, and anticipation surrounding his return has been building steadily since tickets went on sale late last year. Demand was strong from the start, with pre-sale access offered first to American Express cardholders, then to BAC Credomatic cardholders, before sales opened to the general public. The event is widely expected to be among the most attended concerts in Costa Rica in recent memory.

The LOOP Tour has earned praise across the venues it has visited for its creative and intimate approach to the stadium concert format. Rather than relying only on a traditional main stage, the production includes a secondary performance area placed in the middle of the floor section.

This setup allows Sheeran to move closer to the audience during certain moments of the show, creating a more personal atmosphere despite the size of the event. It is during these segments that he is known to showcase his skill as a guitarist and loop artist, layering sounds in real time to build full arrangements on his own.

Opening the night will be the Costa Rican duo Honahlei, chosen to represent the local music scene. The group consists of Michelle González, who performs under the name MishCatt, alongside Austrian musician Kevin Etheridge. Their selection as the opening act adds a local touch to the international show and gives Costa Rican audiences something to celebrate before the headliner takes over.

Tickets remain available for those who have yet to get their spot. Pricing varies by section, ranging from general admission in the upper areas to premium floor placements closer to the stage. Ticket categories include Front Numerado, Platea, Sombra, Gramilla, and Gradería Sur, giving attendees options based on budget and preferred experience.

BAC cardholders can also take advantage of an installment payment option with no interest over three or six months. The concert is open to all ages, though anyone under 18 must attend with an adult. Tickets can be purchased through Costa Rica’s official event ticketing platform, as well as through Sheeran’s own website.

With the final Latin American date falling on Costa Rican soil, the country will host the closing night of one of the year’s major regional tours. For the thousands of fans expected to fill the Estadio Nacional on Saturday, the concert promises to be one of Costa Rica’s biggest live music events of 2026.
