ENPPI Debuts in Oman with $355Mn Contract

The Egyptian Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI) has been awarded the Badr–North East Birba Integrated Project in Oman by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), with a total contract value of $355 million, marking the company’s first project in the Omani market.

Under the contract, ENPPI, which specializes in the design, procurement, and construction of oil, gas, petrochemical, and infrastructure projects, will act as a general contractor on a turnkey basis, delivering engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities, in addition to providing six months of initial operational support following handover.

The development aligns with PDO’s environmental commitment to achieving zero routine flaring by 2030 through flare gas recovery and enhanced sustainability practices.

The project aims to increase gas processing capacity at the Birba Gathering Station (BGS) from 1.4 million standard cubic meters per day (mmcm/d) to 4.2 mmcm/d, while maintaining oil processing capacity at 4,000 cubic meters per day. It also includes upgrades to gas handling systems to improve operational efficiency and minimize gas flaring.

The award follows strong competition with leading international energy companies, underscoring ENPPI’s growing ability to compete regionally and globally. The milestone reflects the success of Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR)’s strategy to support national companies in expanding abroad and accessing new markets, noted a statement by MoPMR.

This win highlights ENPPI’s expanding international footprint and reinforces its reputation for delivering large-scale energy projects in line with the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.

The project also represents a tangible outcome of Karim Badawi’s, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, visit to Oman in December, which aimed to enhance cooperation and open new opportunities for Egyptian petroleum sector companies in the Omani market.

Before securing the Oman project, ENPPI had won several international contracts, including projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the fields of processing and energy infrastructure, as part of its strategy to expand in Gulf markets
