Fintiri Reaffirms Commitment To Education, Safe Communities For Children

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustained investment in education and child welfare, urging governments and communities to prioritise safe environments, strong families and quality education for children.

Speaking as Nigeria commemorates the 2026 Children’s Day celebration themed, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” the governor described children as the nation’s greatest assets who must be supported to realise their full potential.

Fintiri said the true character of any society is reflected in how it treats its children, stressing that young people deserve protection, quality education and freedom from violence and neglect.

“Adamawa State has done a lot to improve education through better learning environments, upgraded facilities, and teacher motivation,” he stated.

“This administration is prioritizing the allocation of resources to the areas that affect them directly.”

The governor said his administration has also taken deliberate steps to strengthen child healthcare through immunisation programmes and efforts aimed at combating malaria, measles and other childhood diseases.

“This is why we are working to empower families so that children can access quality healthcare and education,” he added.

Fintiri stressed that the future of children should never be taken lightly because they represent the next generation of leaders.

He urged Nigerians to support initiatives aimed at improving children’s welfare and creating opportunities for them to thrive.

“Educating all of our children must be one of our most urgent priorities,” the governor said.

“We all know that education, more than anything else, improves your chances of building a better life.”

He also called on governments, families and communities to protect children from abuse, neglect and exploitation, noting that public safety requires collective responsibility and sustained investment.

According to him, building secure and inclusive communities is essential to ensuring children grow in dignity, peace and opportunity.
