Firefighters confirm two killed, one injured in Perak crash between Innova and Myvi near Bagan Serai
IPOH, May 25 — A man and a woman were killed while another man suffered minor injuries in a collision involving a Toyota Innova and a Perodua Myvi along Jalan Taiping-Bagan Serai yesterday.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said firefighters from the Bagan Serai station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 4.56pm.
He said a 66-year-old man driving the Perodua Myvi was found trapped and unconscious, while a 51-year-old female passenger had been removed from the vehicle by members of the public before rescuers arrived.
“However, both victims from the Perodua Myvi were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel,” he said in a statement.
Sabarodzi said the 46-year-old driver of the Toyota Innova sustained minor injuries and was sent to the Parit Buntar Hospital for treatment. — Bernama
