Five men arrested over armed brawl at flat in Port Klang

SHAH ALAM, May 31 — Police have arrested five local men suspected of being involved in a brawl at Flat Seri Perantau in Port Klang Friday.

Klang Selatan district police chief ACP Lim Jit Huey said the suspects, aged between 18 and 47, were detained after police received a report on the incident at 4pm Friday.

“Acting on information, the Klang Selatan district police headquarters (IPD) arrested five local men. The suspects have been remanded for four days starting yesterday to assist investigations.

“The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment or a fine, or both, upon conviction,” he said in a statement, adding that the cause of the fight is still being investigated.

Lim urged members of the public with information to come forward and relay the information to Klang Selatan IPD or any nearby police station to assist investigations.

Earlier, a 2-minute and 41-second video went viral on social media showing a fight involving several individuals, some of whom were seen holding weapons, believed to have taken place at Flat Seri Perantau. — Bernama
