Four injured in five-vehicle crash on LPT2 near Paka R&R

DUNGUN: Four people were injured while 14 others escaped unhurt in a five-vehicle collision along the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) near the Paka Rest and Relax area (R&R) heading towards Kuala Terengganu tonight.

Paka Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Senior Fire Officer Mohd Bakri Abdul Rahman said the department received an emergency call at 7.39pm.

He said a team of three firefighters, assisted by a fire engine, was deployed to the scene.

“Upon arrival, we found that five vehicles were involved in the accident — a Nissan Almera, Toyota Vios, Proton Persona, Perodua Ativa and Toyota Vellfire.

“Two women and two girls travelling in the Nissan Almera sustained injuries.

“All the injured victims were taken to Hospital Dungun for further treatment. The operation was fully concluded at 8.50pm,” he said.
