Gov Yusuf Mourns Communication Scholar, Labaran

Kano State governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned communication scholar, Dr Musa Adamu Labaran, of the Faculty of Communication, Bayero University, Kano, who died yesterdayafter a brief illness.

In a condolence message issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, Governor Yusuf described the death of Dr Labaran as a painful loss to the academic community, the media profession, and society at large.

The Governor said the late Dr Labaran was an accomplished scholar, mentor, and intellectual whose immense contributions to the advancement of communication studies, media scholarship, and public discourse would remain invaluable and enduring.

He noted that the deceased dedicated his life to teaching, research, and mentoring countless students and professionals, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and selfless service to humanity.

Governor Yusuf further stated that Dr Labaran’s death has created a vacuum in academia and the communication profession, given his commitment to knowledge dissemination and intellectual development.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.

Governor Yusuf also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, the academic community, media practitioners, friends, and associates of the late scholar during this difficult time.
