Gov’t told to review Naia privatization

MANILA, Philippines — Concerned stakeholders, consumer advocates and transport groups on Tuesday called for a full review of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) privatization contract amid concerns on its effects on passengers, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), airlines and airport workers. The groups made their call after convening in a House congressional hearing where participants raised alarm over rising airport charges, passenger fees, and questions involving transparency, accountability and constitutional compliance.
